The Divine Office
The primary prayer of the Davidic Order is the Divine Office - the Psalter of King David which has been the public prayer of the Catholic Church since her inception. Davidic men may use the liturgical books of the Divine Office which are best suited to their state in life: the Liturgy of the Hours, the Breviarium Romanum, the Monastic office, or any other version that is approved by the Magisterum of the Catholic Church. Davidic men are not to pray the Office by using any kind of smart phone app.

The bulk of the Divine Office consists of the book of Psalms, and if the entire Office is prayed one prays the entire book of Psalms on a weekly basis (147 Psalms without imprecatory prayers over four weeks if using the Liturgy of the Hours). Each hour consists of at least 3 Psalms, a hymn, canticle, and other short prayers.

Another form of the Divine Office is known as the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is a shorter simpler prayer centered around devotion to the Mother of God using the same structure as the Divine Office. The Little Office was required to be recited by clerics universally in the Church for hundreds of years. Because it is shorter and simpler, yet is a part of the official public prayer of the Catholic Church, many laymen have prayed the Little Office over the centuries even to the present day.

In the Davidic Order, men may pray the Divine Office or the Little Office according to their disposition. A recommended publication of the Divine Office can be found here, and the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary here.
The Davidic Rosary
The Miserere
The Davidic Rosary begins with the recitation of the Miserere, with the intention of renouncing all of one’s sins and begging the Father for His great mercy.

Five Hail Mary’s
Praying five Hail Mary’s commemorates the five smooth stones which King David pulled from the river to slay the giant Goliath. In a similar manner, though one single Hail Mary is sufficient to embed in the skull of any giant and slay him, we arm ourselves with the Angelic Salutation as we enter into spiritual combat.

The following mysteries are prayed in the same manner as the Rosary: one Our Father, ten Hail Mary’s, and one Glory Be.

The First Davidic Mystery: The Anointing at Bethlehem
“Now he was ruddy and beautiful to behold, and of a comely face. And the Lord said: Arise, and anoint him, for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward…”

Fruit of the mystery: Outpouring of the Holy Spirit

The Second Davidic Mystery: The Slaying of the Giant
“For I thy servant have killed both a lion and a bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be also as one of them. I will go now, and take away the reproach of the people: for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, who hath dared to curse the army of the living God? And David said: The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.”

Fruit of the mystery: Confidence in God.

The Third Davidic Mystery: The Coronation of David
“Behold we are thy bone and thy flesh. Moreover yesterday also and the day before, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that did lead out and bring in Israel: and the Lord said to thee: Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel… and they anointed David to be king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Juda seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned three and thirty years over all Israel and Juda.”
Fruit of the mystery: Obedience
The Fourth Davidic Mystery: David’s Prostration in the Temple, and the Composing of the Miserere
“And David said to Nathan: I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said to David: The Lord also hath taken away thy sin: thou shalt not die. Nevertheless, because thou hast given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, for this thing, the child that is born to thee, shall surely die. And Nathan returned to his house. The Lord also struck the child which the wife of Urias had borne to David, and his life was despaired of… and David kept a fast, and going in by himself lay upon the ground. And the ancients of his house came, to make him rise from the ground: but he would not, neither did he eat meat with them. And it came to pass on the seventh day that the child died: and the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead. But when David saw his servants whispering, he said to his servants: Is the child dead? They answered him: He is dead. Then David arose from the ground, and washed and anointed himself: and when he had changed his apparel, he went into the house of the Lord: and worshipped, and then he came into his own house, and he called for bread, and ate.”
Fruit of the mystery: Repentance of sin
The Fifth Davidic Mystery: The Mourning of Absalom
“The king therefore being much moved, went up to the high chamber over the gate, and wept. And as he went he spoke in this manner: My son Absalom, Absalom my son: would to God that I might die for thee, Absalom my son, my son Absalom.”
Fruit of the mystery: Mercy towards sinners
Then is prayed the Salve Regina, followed by the Saint Michael Prayer.
Dominus Regit Me:
The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing.
He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment:
He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name' s sake.
For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.
Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!
And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: Have mercy on us.
